PASSAT Lingyu "Olympic Plan" on course

OVER 10,000 units of the PASSAT Lingyu were sold in August, a momentum partly inspired by SVW's "Olympic Plan," which should continue in September and October. The medium-to-high-end car market experienced fierce competition in July and August, a traditionally slow period for auto sales.

Thanks to its luxurious contours, outstanding performance, safety features and success at localization and marketing, the PASSAT Lingyu continues to sell well. Added features for the Chinese market, such as interior space upgrading and the longer 2803mm wheelbase have also served in winning customers in the large commercial car market.

SVW continues to improve the PASSAT Lingyu. In April 2007, the company upgraded the PASSAT Lingyu series and strengthened the competitiveness of the 1.8T models. During the "Olympic Plan" activity, SVW also made price adjustment to improve its market advantage.

In addition to the strong sales performance of the PASSAT Lingyu, the POLO Jingqing and Jingqu, Touran, and Santana series were also hot sellers in the past month, placing SVW number one on the sales list with a total sales volume of over 40,000 cars.
