AS one of the selected automobile partners of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, SVW recently launched the "Olympic Forest of Heart" project, a special fund designed to contribute to the environmental with efforts for the 2008 Olympics.

　　The project's groundbreaking ceremony was held on March 30 at the Bund, which also marked the set up of the special fund. According to the introduction, the new fund will be raised through sales revenue of car purchases from the kick-off date untill the end of the year and will be used for a forestation plan in Beijing. Dubbed "The Olympic Forest of Heart," the fund is part of SVW's Green Olympics strategy, a reponse to the central government's call for environmental protection to mark the nation's first Olympics.

　　Attending the launch ceremony and planting two trees at the Bund, the city's historic waterfront landmark, were Hu Maoyuan, Chairman of SAIC, along with Yu Xiaoxuan, Deputy Director of the Construction and Environment Department of the Beijing Olympic Organization Committee and SVW Managing Director Chen Zhixin. SVW will also choose several regions across the country to organize tree-planting events for SVW car users in the near future.
