SVW sold a total of 39,008 cars in March, 2007, including 12,482 Santana B2's, 9,109 Santana 3000's, 8,536 PASSAT LINGYU's, 6,824 POLO Jinqing and Jinqu's and 927 Touran's. By the end of March, SVW's first quarter sales volume topped 100,000 units -- a good beginning for 2007.
Statistics showed that in the first three months of the year, SVW maintained a solid sales momentum in all its products, with the Santana brand achieving the best sales performance by reaching a quarterly sales figure of nearly 50,000. Thanks to SVW's upgrading and price optimization efforts for the Santana, the brand has enjoyed a remarkable increase in popularity on the market. Meanwhile, PASSAT LINGYU has also maintained its place among the top three hot-sellers in the classified market segment, along with POLO Jinqing and Jinqu which performed well. Touran, which has enjoyed a boom in sales, recorded a 46% sales increase compared with the same period last year.
As evident by SVW's total annual sales of 352,000 units last year and quarterly sales figure of over 100,000 cars this year, SVW's recovery is undergoing a strong momentum. As noted by SVW Managing Director Mr. Chen Zhixin, the shift to a more proactive stance in marketing and sales has played a significant role in driving the excellent market results.
In the past two years, SVW has undergone many adjustments in a turnaround operation designed to shift the company's focus to the market rather than on the products. In 2007, SVW will develop further marketing innovations in its drive to effect a more active marketing and sales approach, as exemplified by the "E-Program?sales strategy launched recently.
