A cross-country road show to promote the Skoda brand kicked off on December 23. The show was intended to offer consumers up-close contact with the latest manufacturing techniques as well as the century-long history of the Skoda brand. This event was also designed to serve as a warm-up activity for the SVW Skoda Octavia (Mingrui), set for launch in the first half of 2007.
The premier stage of the half-year-long event will be held in six major cities -- Hangzhou, Shanghai, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Wuhan and Chengdu -- it will then continue on to some 20 successive cities. Car models participating in the road show include two versions of the Skoda Octavia, a Super Diplomat which represents the latest design and technological expertise of the Skoda brand, and also a classic Skoda car. Based on the cars exhibited, customers will be able to personally experience the essence of the Skoda brand.Various functional areas such as a discussion area, a brand area and an interactive area among other attractions are planned for the show, which should offer convenience to visitors.
As SVW-Skoda staff have noted, SVW wishes to offer consumers more access to Skoda cars through the country-wide tour. On the other hand, the company hopes to discover potential consumer groups for the Octavia (Mingrui) and improve the product quality according to their requirements.
Since the official launch of the Skoda brand in September this year and especially after the debut of Octavia (Mingrui) at Auto China 2006 in Beijing, Skoda cars have been recognized by industry insiders and have also drawn more and more attention from the public. As the star model of SVW's Skoda fleet, Octavia (Mingrui) will certainly become one of the most competitive cars in the medium-to-high end car market.
