| Ostentatious front end |
The metallic-looking large U-shaped radiator grille of Polo is where the designers lay emphasis. Compared with the previous generation of Polo notchback, the front end of Polo Jinqu gives more gradation and force to the eye of the customers. The upper curves of the headlights extend backwards all the way along the fender and then go upwards to meet the downward U-shaped grille, creating a tensile effect. The sharp lines from the bonnet extending to the bumper feature the latest character of Volkswagen’s designing style and makes Polo Jinqu proud and magnificent.
The curve transition of the front end of Polo Jinqu incorporates the designing concept of the B-class Passat Lingyu, stressing a swift and concise dynamics, which is characteristic of the designs of upper middle cars. Besides, the radiator grille frame is of silver color, adding to the nobility and luxury of this A0 class automobile.

| Double diamond headlights |
| The double diamond headlights featuring a combination of square and round shapes in them replace the separate positioning of the large and small lamps in the front end. The new clear-cut design gives a pleasant feeling and cleverness of styling. The headlights extend backwards along the fender all the way along the fender and then go upwards to meet the downward U-shaped grille, creating a tensile effect. The round low beam lights go beyond the lamp contours to create a lowing effect of the body, adding to the car’s readiness to start. |

| Pithy sides of the body |
Based on the original succinct designing style, a sharp line is created on the fender from the bottom of the side window towards the headlight on the sides of the body, thus greatly adding to the lateral forcefulness and stereopsis of the body. The LED side turning light is built on the rear view mirror to increase harmony and beauty of the lateral curves, as well as the vehicle as a whole. The side turning light can also serve as a width indicator to give clearer warning to the oncoming vehicles and thus increases the driving safety.
All the lateral lines, roof curves and side frames are re-designed. The roof curves inherits the classical styling of Passat Lingyu, gradually going down from the roof top to meet the rear end in a natural way. The rear door and the rear triangular window also go slightly backwards, moving the visual focus backwards accordingly. The styling of the vehicle as a whole is in conformity with the principle of a lower front with a higher rear, and its lines are handled in a mature and sensible way.
Apart from the above, chrome trims are used on the radiator grille, anti-friction strips and rear end trim strips, conspicuously offsetting the contour of the entire vehicle and upgrading the vehicle. The width seems to become greater and the car looks magnificent. The hub and wheel cap also appear dynamic, tensile and full of vitality.
In fact, to a notchback car having a sibling of hatchback version to compare with, the success of design depends on the design of the sides. The smooth lateral lines are where the aesthetic beauty lies with a notchback car.
